Autostraddle
Autostraddle is the internet’s most popular and oldest independently-owned website for lesbian culture. Autostraddle gets over 2.5M visits a month. We built and hosted their website for over 10 years.
Autostraddle had an extremely successful indigogo campaign to hire us to fix their website originally. A rapidly growing user base and a seriously broken infrastructure required us to rebuild the whole website from scratch, ditching all the old code. It took 9 months of development and includes dozens of custom plugins, a custom theme, responsive mobile first masonry layout, a beautiful design by the extremely talented Alex Vega, a community section built on BuddyPress and a gated premium content section called A+. We stayed on for a decade maintaining their website post launch.
